Torrent Setup
Test Torrent Client (Transmission)
Open url of Transmission i.e. http://IP-address:9091
Enter you password set during the installation of Transmission
There are 2 options to add a torrent
- Torrent file
- Magnet link
Click on folder icon in Transmission webui where you option to upload the torrent file or add a magnet link, also there is pre-defined path is mention where this torrent will be downloaded
If the torrent downloads without any issue it means Transmission is configured properly
Torrents Management
Jackett
Jackett works as a proxy server: it translates queries from apps into tracker-site-specific http queries and performing searches.
Add Indexer
Open url of Jackett i.e. http://IP-address:9117
Click on add indexer button
There are 3 types of indexers
Public, Private, Semi-private
Public can be used without any authentication, but Private and Semi-private needs authentication from torrent sites, if you have access to these you can configure with your credentials
Select the Indexer and click on + button to add it
Do it as many as you like it
After adding indexer, you can test the indexer by clicking test button if there is an issue there are few options from which you can change the configuration of indexer to work properly to do that click on configuration icon
You can manually search the torrent here, either search from all added indexers or from individual indexer
Jackett Configuration
From here you can also configure Jackett basic setting like,
Admin Password, Port No or check for updates etc.
Radarr
Radarr is a movie collection manager for Usenet and BitTorrent users. It can monitor multiple RSS feeds for new movies and will interface with clients and indexers to grab, sort, and rename them. It can also be configured to automatically upgrade the quality of existing files in the library when a better-quality format becomes available
Configure Radarr
Open url i.e. http://IP-address:7878
Add Indexer
1. We need to configure indexer for radar, so it performs searches for added movies
2. Click on Setting and then indexer
3. Under indexer click on + button to add indexer
4. Now click on Torznab custom
5. Enter Name for the indexer
6. Enter url: for this open your jackett interface and from added indexer click on copy torznab feed and then paste it in Radarr
7. Enter API Key: again open jackett interface and on top the page you will find API key copy it and paste it here
8. Click on TEST button to test it, if test is successful click on save button to save it
Add all indexer in radar which you configured in jackett one by one
Add Download Client (Transmission)
1. Now you must add download client in Radarr, Click on Setting and then Download Client
2. In Download Client, click on + button and select Transmission
3. Enter a name for this download client e.g. Transmission
4. Host, port and Url base will be filled with default value if you need to change it do it accordingly
5. Enter Transmission username and password
6. Click on Test if successful click on Save
Add Movie to Radarr
There are few options to add movie,- 1. Bulk Add, if you already have movies browse to it and add the path it will recognize the movie by its folder names
- 2. Discover New Movie, recommendation from the Movie DB
- 3. Add New Movie by name
- 4. Add movies by providing a list
To add movie simple type movie name and it will search and show you the results and then you have to provide the path where you want your movies to download, and if you want to monitor movie to auto download if not available now or update its quality select yes.
Next Select its Profile, the movie quality (resolution HD720p or 1080p etc.)
Click on + Button to add this movie
After this the movie will be downloaded when default search performs or you can force it to search and download it manually
Click on movie name to open it and the click on search button to manually perform search and show you the result from which you can select the torrent to download by clicking cloud download button before each result
After clicking you can check Transmission Webui the movie torrent will be added there.
Sonarr
Sonarr is a TV Shows collection manager for Usenet and BitTorrent users
Configure Sonarr
Its configuration is same as Radarr
Open url i.e. http://IP-address:8989
Add Indexer
1. We need to configure indexer for Sonarr, so it performs searches for added TV Show
2. Click on Setting and then indexer
3. Under indexer click on + button to add indexer
4. Now click on Torznab custom
5. Enter Name for the indexer
6. Enter url: for this open your jackett interface and from added indexer click on copy torznab feed and then paste it in Sonarr
7. Enter API Key: again from jackett interface and on top the page you will find API key copy it and paste it here
8. Click on TEST button to test it, if test is successful click on save button to save it
Add Download Client (Transmission)
7. Now you must add download client in Sonarr, Click on Setting and then Download Client
8. In Download Client, click on + button and select Transmission
9. Enter a name for this download client e.g. Transmission
10. Host, port and Url base will be filled with default value if you need to change it do it accordingly
11. Enter Transmission username and password
12. Click on Test if successful click on Save
Add Series/Tv Shows to Sonarr
There are 2 options to add
1. Import existing
2. Add New
If you want to add existing TV Shows you have the click on it and provide the path
If you want to add new Series Type your Series name and select from the select and add it, by providing Path, Monitor info, Profile, series type and season folder
After this, the series will be downloaded when default search performs, or you can force it to search and download it manually
Click on series name to open it and it will show all the season if click on search button on each season it will search and automate the download or individually each episode to manually perform search and show you the result from which you can select the torrent to download by clicking add to queue button before each result
After clicking you can check Transmission Webui the series torrent will be added there.
Media Server Configuration
Open url i.e. http://IP-address:8096
Click on Setting Icon on the right and to configure Libraries and on left menu click on Library
Click on New Library Button
Select Content Type, like movie, shows etc
Enter Name for the Library or use Default Name
Next Click on + button before Folder to add path to your movies or Shows and configure other setting accordingly
After Adding library click on Home button and after some time when scanning of added folder is completed the show or movies will be shown in Media Server Interface
Now if you want to watch the movie simple click on play button on Movie or TV show Image and it will start playing
Or if you want to view on your cell phone you can download emby android app from play store and install it, in emby app add manual server by providing emby server lan ip
There are lots of option in emby server, like multiple users and their access to certain libraries, different plugins, subtitle management, each user display setting etc
